Now adults with minds hopelessly warped by television, they’ve come together to indulge their shared obsession. On Raised By TV, Jon and Lauren revisit the best and worst TV of the late 80s and early 90s - everything from game shows and TGIF to Oprah and cereal commercials.

Jon Gabrus and Lauren Lapkus
Jon Gabrus is an actor, writer, and comedian. Jon most recently shot an episode of the new POP TV sketch series HOT DATE for College Humor’s Brian Murphy and Emily Axford, executive produced by Big Breakfast and Principato Young. He previously appeared in THE 5th QUARTER for Verizon Go90 and had a small role in GAME OVER, MAN! Opposite Adam Devine, Anders Holm and Blake Anderson for Point Grey and Netflix. He previously wrapped production on the Comedy Central pilot THE COUCH, for which he was the host. He was last seen opposite Alison Brie, John C. Reilly and Dave Franco in THE LITTLE HOURS written and directed by Jeff Baena which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. Previously, Jon recurred on TVLand’s YOUNGER and Hulu’s REAL HOTWIVES OF LAS VEGAS. He has guest starred on ABC’s HAPPY ENDINGS, IFC’s COMEDY BANG BANG, Comedy Central’s WORKAHOLICS, and Adult Swim’s NEWSREADERS. Jon also hosted MTV’s THE SUBSTITUTE, TruTV’s HAIRJACKED, TruTV’s SANTAS IN THE BARN. Jon also developed with Comedy Central multiple times for himself to star and last year developed with ABCS/FBC with Adam Pally and Paul Lieberstein. On the feature side, Jon Gabrus can be seen in the indie darling FOURTH MAN OUT. He has previously appeared alongside Ben Walker in HBO’s MUHAMMAD ALI’S GREATEST FIGHT and in FLOCK OF DUDES. Also, he was the lead in the Yahoo Comedy THE FUZZ and in the SXSW breakout comedy AWFUL NICE. He can regularly be seen dispensing his comedic wit on MTV2’s hit shows “Guy Code,” “Girl Code,” and “Wild N Out.” Furthermore, Jon has written for College Humor, ComedyCentral.com and the Spike TV “Video Game Awards.” Jon can be seen performing weekly at UCBLA with “ASSSSCAT” or heard on his podcast “High and Mighty.” Lauren Lapkus is an Emmy-nominated actress, improviser, and writer. She’s best known for her role as prison guard Susan Fischer on Netflix’s Orange is the New Black, which won her a SAG award. She’s upcoming in the feature Holmes and Watson, with Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly. Lauren had a supporting role in the blockbuster Jurassic World and created and starred in an episode of The Characters for Netflix. She recurs on HBO’s Crashing, starring Pete Holmes and produced by Judd Apatow. Lauren was also one of Variety’s 10 Comics To Watch in 2016. Her weekly Earwolf podcast “With Special Guest Lauren Lapkus” debuted at #1 on the comedy section of iTunes. Along with Scott Aukerman and Paul F. Tompkins, she has performed throughout the United States and in Australia as part of the Comedy Bang! Bang! live tour. Lauren’s other credits include series regular roles on the sitcoms Clipped for TBS and Are you There, Chelsea? for NBC. She has also appeared on Kroll Show, Key & Peele, Meltdown with Jonah and Kumail, Another Period, Drunk History, and the features Blended, starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, and Matthew Weiner’s Are You Here, starring Zach Galikianakis and Owen Wilson. She has lent her voice to the animated shows Bob’s Burgers on FOX, Adventure Time on Cartoon Network, and the HBO comedy Animals. On stage, Lauren performs with ASSSSCAT at UCB and Wild Horses at both UCB and Largo.
