About the Podcast
Join bloggers Kid Fury and Crissle for their weekly “read” of hip-hop and pop culture's most trying stars. Throwing shade and spilling tea with a flippant and humorous attitude, no star is safe from Fury and Crissle unless their name is Beyonce. Or Blue Ivy. As recent transplants to New York City (Fury from Miami and Crissle from Oklahoma City), The Read also serves as an on air therapy session for two friends trying to adjust to life (and rats) in the big city.
About the Host
Kid Fury and Crissle West
Born in Miami and raising hell in New York City, Kid Fury is a media mouthpiece with a whole lot of nerve. In June 2006, he created an urban news/gossip site called The Fury, which has since become a popular award-winning blog. With over hundreds of thousands of hits a day, The Fury has become a staple in daily pop culture news for the snarky. Now with Kid Fury TV, a YouTube channel currently holding over 94,000 subscribers, and chart-topping new podcast The Read, Kid Fury is pushing his brand across all avenues with a unique and sharp flare of truth, shade, and fuckery. Crissle West is a writer and the female co-host of hit comedy podcast The Read. Raised in Oklahoma, Crissle moved to NYC in June 2012 in search of neighbors who believe in both gun and birth control. She enjoys spending countless hours watching Beyoncé performances online and pretending that updating her Tumblr is an acceptable substitute for writing. Crissle's written work has been published in ESSENCE magazine and she has appeared on panels covering race, gender, and sexuality at NYU, UC - Riverside, Murray State University, and the American Studies Association. Her webisode & television appearances include MTV2's "Uncommon Sense", MTV News' "Decoded", and Comedy Central's "Drunk History". Crissle considers being featured on Beyoncé’s Facebook page to be her greatest achievement.
