About the Host
Lian Dolan, Liz Dolan and Julie Dolan
Lian Dolan is a writer, producer and the author of two best-selling novels– Helen of Pasadena and Elizabeth The First Wife. Her next book will be published by William Morrow in 2020. She’s written regular columns for O, The Oprah Magazine and Working Mother and now writes a monthly for Pasadena Magazine. Lian has developed several shows for television, including a half-hour sitcom for Nickelodeon based on The Chaos Chronicles, the podcast and blog she created about her life as a busy working mom. Besides podcasting and writing, Lian speaks extensively to women’s organizations, corporate groups and books cubs about her work and her life with wit and warmth. Lian lives in Pasadena with her husband and German shepherd Steffi. She has two twenty-something sons. Recognized as one of the world’s leading marketers, Liz Dolan has been the Chief Marketing Officer at NIKE, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC CHANNELS and OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. She’s earned spots on such lists as 100 Most Powerful People in Sports (Sporting News), 100 Most Powerful Women in Cable (CableFax) and Marketer of the Year (Adweek). She speaks to business groups + conferences all over the world and is the host of two podcasts: Satellite Sisters and a workplace/career advice show from Wondery called SAFE FOR WORK. She lives in Santa Monica with her dog Hooper. Julie Dolan is the show’s foreign correspondent, having lived and worked in Bangkok and Moscow, Julie and her husband have settled back into Dallas, Texas. She continues to travel extensively and has done special episodes of Satellite Sisters about her travels to North Korea, Uzbekistan and Australia. Previously, she worked and taught at a number of top universities including Tulane, UCLA and Stanford. Julie has two adult sons, two wonderful daughters-in-law and five grandchildren, about whom she reports under the alter ego Urban Nana. The newest member of the family is a black lab named Oliver.
