About the Host

A.F. Winter

Mr. Winter's creative prowess spans various forms of art. He has authored novels, plays, children's books, and poetry, and his work has appeared in several magazines. His directorial skills have brought to life over three dozen plays, with his productions captivating audiences in New York, Philadelphia, Florida, South Carolina, and Europe. Notably, his play, The Colliers, earned him the prestigious South Carolina Playwrights Festival award. Mr. Winter's leadership and commitment to social change are evident in his ten-year tenure as the Artistic Director of Puck's Theatre. Under his guidance, the company gained national recognition for its transformative work with at-risk youth. Together with Puck's Theatre, he spearheaded the creation of numerous new works that toured South Carolina and the Southeast. Mr. Winter has been a theatre teacher for more than twenty years. He has taught at college and in the public school system, grades 3-8, and is a National Board-Certified teacher. Mr. Winter has an M.F.A. in theatre performance from the University of Florida. He has given workshops for theatre, teaching, and healthcare professionals at national and regional conferences and organizations. His podcast is a personal journey that features the highs and lows in his life and the enlightenments he has experienced along the way.
