About the Host
Jason Kander
Jason Kandor decided to join the military after the devastating events on September 11th, 2001, where he served his country in Afghanistan as a Military Intelligence Officer before he rose to the rank of Captain. When his service was completed he became the first millennial in the nation elected to a statewide office as a Missouri state legislator and Missouri Secretary of State from 2013-2017. Today, he serves as President of Veterans Community Project (VCP), which was founded by combat veterans in Kansas City. Their mission is to fill the gaps in services for all veterans and provide transitional housing to end veteran homelessness. Jason is leading the organization’s national expansion in the hope of creating VCP branches in eight additional cities by 2022 and then to every major city in America. Amongst his efforts to serve his community he is also a proud father, husband, and advocate for change.
