There is also a satellite location on Long Island, with plans for more satellite locations in the future. A.R. Bernard welcomed President Reuven Rivlin of the State of Israel to CCC, where New York Congressional members and elected officials greeted him on his first visit to the U.S. With his dynamic communication skills, A.R. Bernard has led Bible studies for celebrities in entertainment, athletics, and government. Many well-known personalities regularly attend services at CCC, including Denzel and Pauletta Washington, Alonzo Mourning, Angela Bassett, Curtis Martin, and Robin Roberts. Other noteworthy visitors have included Bill and Hillary Clinton, Reince Priebus, Kim Cattrall, and many more. A.R. Bernard was chosen to deliver mass with Pope Benedict at St. Patrick’s Cathedral and with Pope Francis at ceremonies for the 911 Memorial Museum. At the behest of Oprah Winfrey, he was selected to speak at the 80thbirthday celebration of beloved poet Maya Angelou, who called him a “brilliant teacher.” Named by New York Magazine as one of the most influential figures in religion, A.R. Bernard is the President of the Council of Churches of the City of New York representing 1.5 million Protestants, Anglicans, and Orthodox Christians. He sits on the NYC Economic Development Corporation Board and served on NYC School Chancellor’s Advisory Cabinet. Outreach programs under A.R. Bernard’s leadership include a food pantry serving the Brooklyn community, a Prison Ministry, and various city organizations, including the New York Police Department’s orientation.
