A. R. Bernard

A.R. Bernard is a visionary and one of the most influential religious leaders in the world today. His transformative teachings have catapulted his church, the Christian Cultural Center (CCC), to become New York’s largest house of worship with 40,000+ members, and one of the fastest growing churches in all of America. An anointed life coach and beloved pillar of Godly influence, A.R. Bernard delivers captivating teachings with biblical insights that empower and motivate believers to live out their faith in today’s ever-changing cultural climate. Revered as the “Power Pastor” by The New York Times, A.R. Bernard teaches in a nurturing and inspiring way that resonates with those from all walks of life, making God’s word alive and relevant for navigating each day. A.R. Bernard built a 10-year career in finance, working his way up to operations specialist in the consumer lending division at a major New York bank before he and his wife Karen used their savings to open a small storefront church in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. From there, the church outgrew one facility after another, from a high school auditorium to a Days Inn hotel, from the Salvation Army auditorium to a renovated supermarket on Linden Boulevard. Today, CCC is situated on an 11.5-acre campus in Brooklyn, with a master plan to accommodate 700 units of affordable housing, commercial, and residential space. There is also a satellite location on Long Island, with plans for more satellite locations in the future. A.R. Bernard welcomed President Reuven Rivlin of the State of Israel to CCC, where New York Congressional members and elected officials greeted him on his first visit to the U.S. With his dynamic communication skills, A.R. Bernard has led Bible studies for celebrities in entertainment, athletics, and government. Many well-known personalities regularly attend services at CCC, including Denzel and Pauletta Washington, Alonzo Mourning, Angela Bassett, Curtis Martin, and Robin Roberts. Other noteworthy visitors have included Bill and Hillary Clinton, Reince Priebus, Kim Cattrall, and many more. A.R. Bernard was chosen to deliver mass with Pope Benedict at St. Patrick’s Cathedral and with Pope Francis at ceremonies for the 911 Memorial Museum. At the behest of Oprah Winfrey, he was selected to speak at the 80thbirthday celebration of beloved poet Maya Angelou, who called him a “brilliant teacher.” Named by New York Magazine as one of the most influential figures in religion, A.R. Bernard is the President of the Council of Churches of the City of New York representing 1.5 million Protestants, Anglicans, and Orthodox Christians.
